Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ASTRALOGIC collects, uses, stores, and discloses information about users of our iOS app. Please read it carefully. By creating an account and using ASTRALOGIC, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who we are

ASTRALOGIC is an iOS application developed by [Legal Entity — to be completed upon business entity formation; currently operated by Joe Raymond, sole proprietor, Bainbridge Island, Washington, USA]. References in this Policy to "we," "us," "our," and "ASTRALOGIC" mean the operator. Our principal place of business is the State of Washington, USA.

2. What we collect

We collect only the information we need to provide the service you signed up for. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

2.1 Account data

• Email address — from email signup or from your Apple ID if you use Sign in with Apple.
• Name — only if you provide it via Sign in with Apple. Optional.
• Age affirmation — a boolean flag recording that you affirmed, during signup, that you are 17 years of age or older.

2.2 Birth data (used for astrological chart generation)

• Birth date — day, month, year.
• Birth time — hour and minute, optional. Chart accuracy is higher with exact time.
• Birth location — city, region, country, plus latitude, longitude, and IANA timezone (e.g., America/New_York).
• Optional modules — blood type, birth order, Enneagram type, MBTI type, if you choose to enter them. These feed the AI synthesis essay and are never shared with sub-processors beyond what is needed to generate content.

2.3 Generated content

• Synthesis essay — a 600–900 word personalized portrait generated once at onboarding.
• Daily horoscopes — five-section daily readings generated each day during your subscription.
• Periodic analysis reports — retrospective AI analyses of past journal entries and astrological transits.
• Explain Yourself responses — retroactive AI analyses of specific dates.
• Journal entries — any text or structured logs you enter in AstroLog.

2.4 Purchase data

• Apple transaction identifiers, subscription status, expiration date, and receipt data. Payment card information is handled by Apple, not by ASTRALOGIC. We never see your card number.

2.5 Device data

• APNs device token — used solely to deliver push notifications you have opted into (e.g., "Your daily reading is ready").

2.6 What we DO NOT collect

ASTRALOGIC does not collect or store your menstrual cycle data on our servers. If you use the optional in-app period tracker, your cycle logs, symptoms, and predictions live only on your Apple devices and your iCloud account, encrypted by Apple. ASTRALOGIC's servers never receive this data. When AI-generated content uses your current cycle phase for context, your device computes the phase label locally (e.g., "Late Follicular") and sends only that label to our AI generation service for that single request. The label is not stored on our servers.

We also do not collect:

• Health and fitness data.
• Crash reports or usage analytics (we may add opt-in crash reporting in a future version; this policy will be updated if we do).
• Advertising identifiers. We do not run ads.
• Any data for cross-app tracking. ASTRALOGIC does not engage in App Tracking Transparency–covered tracking.

3. How we use it

We use the information above to:

• Generate and display your personal astrological charts (Western, Vedic, and BaZi).
• Generate your daily horoscope and analysis content via our AI service.
• Deliver push notifications at your chosen time.
• Determine whether your subscription is active and whether to serve premium content.
• Respond to support requests you send to privacy@astrologic.site.
• Comply with legal obligations (billing record retention, subpoena response, etc.).

4. Sub-processors

We work with third parties to deliver the service. Each receives only the minimum data necessary for its function. We list them here and will update this section before adding any new sub-processor.

No training on your data. Anthropic and OpenAI do not train their models on data submitted via their paid API tiers, which is what ASTRALOGIC uses.

RoxyAPI note: We are finalizing written confirmation that RoxyAPI does not retain your birth data after responding to a chart request. This Policy will be updated with the outcome.

5. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you. Currently this is handled by email to privacy@astrologic.site; an in-app export button will ship in a future update.
• Correction — edit your birth data in Settings, or request correction of other data by email.
• Deletion — delete your account in Settings. Deletion cascades across all records we hold about you within 30 days, subject only to legally required retention (see §6).
• Portability — a JSON export of your data is available on request; in-app button ships in a future update.
• Objection / restriction — GDPR and CCPA rights to object to processing or restrict it are available on request to privacy@astrologic.site.
• Withdraw consent — stop using the service, or delete your account.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, access, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/share of your personal information. ASTRALOGIC does not sell or share personal information. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@astrologic.site.

EU/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have the same rights, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

6. Data retention

• Active accounts — retained indefinitely while your account is active.
• Deleted accounts — deleted within 30 days of your deletion request.
• Billing records — retained for 7 years as required by United States IRS record-keeping rules for tax purposes.
• Legal holds — data subject to a preservation obligation (subpoena, investigation, litigation) is retained until the obligation is satisfied.

7. International transfers

Your data is stored in the United States. If you access ASTRALOGIC from outside the US, you consent to the transfer of your data to the US. We use standard contractual clauses with our sub-processors where required by law.

8. Menstrual and reproductive health data

ASTRALOGIC does not collect or store your menstrual cycle data on our servers. Your cycle logs, symptoms, and predictions live only on your Apple devices and your iCloud account, encrypted by Apple. Our servers never receive this data.

This architectural choice — documented in our internal Architecture Decision Record ADR-008 — was made to minimize exposure to post-Dobbs legal processes that have targeted cycle-tracking data in some US jurisdictions. Because we do not hold the data, we cannot be compelled to produce it.

When our AI service generates content that uses your cycle phase for context (e.g., daily horoscopes), your device computes the phase label locally and sends only the label string for that single request. The label is used once and not stored.

If you use iCloud, Apple's standard encryption and legal-process terms apply to your cycle data; those terms are outside our control and are described in Apple's privacy documentation.

9. Children

ASTRALOGIC is rated 16+ in the App Store and requires all users to affirm during signup that they are 17 years of age or older. The service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 17. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact privacy@astrologic.site and we will delete the account.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes to this Policy at this URL, update the "Last updated" date, and — for material changes — display an in-app banner at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of ASTRALOGIC after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

ASTRALOGIC is operated under the State of Washington, USA. The ADRs referenced in this Policy (ADR-008, ADR-009) are maintained in the project's engineering documentation and are available on request to verified counsel or regulators.
